Momentos is a photographic series exploring the mystery, emptiness and darkness as a reflection of feelings of loneliness and depression. These themes relate to each other and demonstrate how an image may  make the viewer feel what I feel.  I am aware that my images may also connect to other feelings or thoughts that people are dealing with that are different from my own.

In this work, I utilize night photography and choose to focus on places where there are no people around.  This emphasizes the feeling of isolation and loneliness that I am trying to express. Using long exposures and using cameras interchangeably to have more options to choose from for my final results. I also take advantage of the street lights to help set the mood for my images.  I like to use blue and yellow tones for peace. The red tone is to represent danger or negative space. I sometimes do my own filters like breathing on the lens to make it seem dreamy or use color markers on the lens to set a tone. The image quality will vary depending on what will look best to show a specific feeling. The smoother the image, the more emotional result I get out of it. The more detail I capture, the more distracting it will be.

Silvestre Galicia

is a photographer based in California and was born in Oceanside. He was raised in the city of Vista where he is currently living. Most of his work consists of street, black and white, portrait, landscape, and night photography. He used to be a photographer for car enthusiasts, but later on decided to focus more on his point of view and likes editing with saturated colors. With the help of taking pictures of modified cars, this helped strengthen his editing/photography skills and is now making his own presets in Adobe Lightroom. Most of his work is now focused on night photography and capturing places where it seems empty. He is currently going to Cal State San Marcos with a major of visual arts and technology. Due to Covid he’s been working a lot and hardly has time to photograph in the day.

This is a great place to add a tagline.
